1. Your agreement with Yebalabs

By creating or using a Yebalabs account, signing in through Yebalabs Identity, or continuing to use the service after being shown these Terms, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Yebalabs Identity.

“Yebalabs,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the operator of Yebalabs Identity in Kigali, Rwanda. “You” means the individual using the account and, where applicable, the business or organisation that authorised that use.

2. What Yebalabs Identity provides

Yebalabs Identity authenticates users and supplies approved Yebalabs applications with the identity, membership, role and permission information needed to provide access. It may support passwords, one-time codes, Google sign-in and other approved methods.

Yebalabs Identity is not the complete service offered by each connected product or ecosystem business. Additional product terms, pricing, cancellation rules or business policies may apply and will be presented by the relevant service.

3. Your account and security

You must provide accurate information, keep it current and use the service only for yourself or an organisation that has authorised you. You are responsible for protecting your credentials, devices and one-time codes and for activity carried out through your account where caused by your failure to protect them.

Tell us promptly at apps@yebalabs.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We may require identity verification before restoring access or processing a sensitive request.

You must not share an individual account, impersonate another person, create accounts through deception, or attempt to bypass roles and permissions. A business account administrator is responsible for granting and removing access for its staff.

4. Connected products and ecosystem businesses

When you subscribe to, join or transact with a participating business, you authorise Yebalabs Identity to provide that business with the identity, membership and permission information reasonably needed to deliver and administer the selected service. Only businesses participating in the Yebalabs ecosystem may receive information through this account relationship.

The participating business is independently responsible for its goods, services, fulfilment, customer support and any information it collects beyond Yebalabs Identity. A dispute concerning a business’s own service should first be raised with that business, without limiting rights provided by Rwanda law.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use Yebalabs Identity for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or harmful activity;
  • access or attempt to access another person’s account, data or permissions;
  • probe, disrupt, overload or bypass the security of the service;
  • submit malicious code, automate abusive requests or interfere with other users;
  • use identity data obtained through the service for unsolicited marketing, profiling or resale;
  • misrepresent an affiliation with Yebalabs or an ecosystem business.

We may rate-limit, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, comply with law or enforce these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to correct the issue.

6. Content, data and intellectual property

You retain ownership of information and content you lawfully submit. You grant Yebalabs only the limited permission required to host, process, transmit, back up and display it for the service you requested, to secure the platform and to comply with law.

Yebalabs Identity, including its software, design, documentation, marks and platform materials, belongs to Yebalabs or its licensors. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership or permit copying, resale or reverse engineering except where applicable law expressly allows it.

Third-party services, including Google sign-in and infrastructure providers, remain subject to their own terms. Their inclusion does not transfer your agreement with Yebalabs to those providers.

7. Changes and service availability

We work to keep Yebalabs Identity secure and available, but maintenance, security incidents, telecommunications failures or events outside our reasonable control may interrupt service. We may change a feature where needed for security, legal compliance or improvement of the ecosystem.

We may update these Terms. The current version and effective date will be published here. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable additional notice where practical. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

8. Ending use of the service

You may stop using Yebalabs Identity and request account deletion. Deletion may affect access to every connected Yebalabs product and ecosystem business. Certain records may be retained where required or permitted for security, contractual or legal reasons, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that materially or repeatedly breaches these Terms, poses a security risk, is used unlawfully, or must be restricted by a valid legal requirement.

9. Warranties and responsibility

We will provide Yebalabs Identity with reasonable care and skill and apply safeguards appropriate to an authentication service. Except for rights and guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded, the service is provided as available and we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the extent permitted by Rwanda law, Yebalabs is responsible only for loss that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to exercise required care. We are not responsible for a participating business’s independent goods or services, your failure to secure credentials, or events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, remedies or consumer rights where doing so would be unlawful.

10. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern promptly. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it may be submitted to the competent courts of Rwanda, without preventing either party from using another remedy or authority available under applicable law.

If one part of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver of that right.

Mubazi app

These additional terms apply when you use Mubazi, the Yebalabs expense tracking app. If they conflict with the rest of these Terms for Mubazi, these additional terms prevail.

  • A tracking tool. Mubazi helps you record and review your own money. It is not a bank, wallet, lender or payment service, it does not move money or connect to your accounts, and it does not give financial, legal or tax advice. Totals, budgets and savings goals reflect what you enter, so you are responsible for keeping your records accurate. An amount left to spend is an estimate from those entries, not a statement of your actual balance.
  • Your records and devices. Without an account, your records exist only on your device and can be lost if the device is lost, reset or the app is removed. Sign in to back up and sync them. Photos attached to expenses, the payment channels you name, and your recurring bills, incomes and savings goals stay on your device and are not backed up by Mubazi, so they can be lost in the same way even if you sign in. Keep your device and email secure.
  • Reminders. Bill reminders are a convenience. They depend on your device, its notification settings and the dates you enter, and may arrive late or not at all, so you remain responsible for paying your bills on time. Marking a bill as paid only records an expense in Mubazi; it does not pay the bill.
  • App lock. App lock uses your phone’s own screen lock, so anyone who can unlock your phone can open Mubazi.
  • Reports. A spending report is built from your synced records. Check it before relying on it, for example for tax or expense claims.
  • Your account. You can sign in with an email one-time code, or with Google on Android. You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account; deletion is permanent and removes your Mubazi records from the service and the device.
  • Acceptable use. Do not use Mubazi to record or facilitate unlawful activity, or to interfere with the Mubazi service.
  • Your local rights. If you use Mubazi as a consumer in the EU, the EEA or Norway, nothing in these Terms, including the governing law and dispute sections, removes the mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
